Pink Monkey Productions
I was asked by a fellow student at UCA Maidstone to create a moving film introduction for their film company 'Pink Monkey Productions'. The task was to animate a monkey walking across the screen so that it can reach its final destination where it matches the logo.

This is the image i was handed to work with (in a Photoshop format). The first thing i had to do was to take the monkey and separate it into its individual body parts.

As I was working with a silhouette it was left more to my imagination to figure out the shapes of each body part. I overlapped them to make sure that when they were moved, no gaps would be shown.

As for the movement; i solidified the main direction first by moving the body, and used this to see how fast i needed the arm and leg movements to be.
I then needed to change the anchor points of each part to where its joint would be.
Then I used only rotation transformation to mimick natural movement.
For the last touch, I wanted to make it look as if the line was being drawn under the text as a finishing statement. To do this, I moved the anchor point to the start of the line and then increased the scale until i was happy with the result.
Above is the finished animation I made. The client was very pleased with the outcome and it was used as the introduction of their student film.
I would not class myself as an animator but I was proud to know I have the ability to make things like this
